Staff Data Scientist (Catalog, AI)

What you will do

• Design scalable catalog systems for data extraction, query-based enrichment, product highlights, and defect reduction.
• Build agentic and automated workflows that improve the quality, completeness, readability, and accessibility of tens of millions of listings.
• Set the technical direction for scalable and cost-effective models and production systems.
• Research and analyze data using multimodal LLMs, classical statistics, and machine learning.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to turn ambiguous requirements into practical solutions.
• Measure the real-world impact of launched solutions and lead thinking on AI evaluation and inconsistent or dirty labels.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant industry or academic experience.
• Hands-on expertise in statistics and machine learning applied to production systems.
• Ability to independently manipulate data, formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and conduct statistical analysis.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Production experience with LLMs and agentic systems.
• Experience designing scalable pipelines, LLM-embedded workflows, human-in-the-loop workflows, and hybrid agentic pipelines.
• Advanced proficiency with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and LLMs.
• Deep understanding of e-commerce and experience taking advanced models into production.
