Analytics Engineer (EdTech)

What you will do

• Assess the Databricks data estate, define trust levels, and propose ownership for sources and tables.
• Build and version dbt silver-to-gold transformations using dimensional modelling, semantic layers, and point-in-time dimensions.
• Design and roll out a shared event taxonomy and naming convention with engineering.
• Own the metric catalog and sign-off process, including activation, engagement, and retention models.
• Build semantic models and documentation for self-service product and business analytics.
• Define data quality standards, monitor instrumentation, and embed sign-off into the Definition of Done.

Requirements

• Production-level SQL experience and Git as a regular working practice.
• Experience with dimensional modelling and semantic layers.
• Experience creating tracking plans or event taxonomies with engineering teams.
• Experience enforcing data contracts, CI validation, Definition of Done gates, or similar processes.
• Ability to translate ambiguous product and business questions into durable measurement definitions.
• Experience working closely with product managers, designers, and engineers in a product environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks or Unity Catalog.
• Experience with B2B SaaS multi-surface products.
• Experience with data observability tooling.
