Project Engineer I - Protection

Location: Dubai Silicon Oasis, UAE. The role requires domestic and international travel of at least 25% based on the focus area.

Company

Provides products and engineering support for electric power system protection, automation, and protective relay applications.

What you will do

• Apply fundamental concepts and practices in power system protection, protective relays, relay settings, testing, and related products.
• Train and assist customers with designing, configuring, validating, installing, commissioning, and operating automation and protection systems.
• Deliver assigned engineering work within the agreed scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining quality and safety.
• Participate in preparing functional design specifications.
• Prepare and maintain design documents, reports, checklists, test reports, and other deliverables.
• Follow operational, values-based, and manufacturing principles and take on additional assigned duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant application experience with electric power systems, system protection, protective relays, settings, and testing practices.
• Good knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration, and communications applications.
• Working knowledge of electric power system design, studies, information and communication technology, and protective relay applications.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills, with the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for at least 25% of the time; satisfactory background check and negative drug test required.

Nice to have

• Engineer in Training certificate.
• Experience with an electrical utility, industrial plant, consulting engineering firm, or system integrator.
• Project engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of Vision or another project management tracking tool.
