Commissioning Engineer (Electrical)

What you will do

• Plan, prepare, and execute electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for an Oil & Gas EPC project.
• Review single-line diagrams, control schematics, cable schedules, and electrical layouts for commissioning readiness.
• Inspect, test, and energize transformers, LV/MV/HV switchgear, MCCs, motors, UPS, lighting, earthing systems, substations, and related equipment.
• Lead insulation resistance, continuity, functional, interlock, primary and secondary injection, relay, motor solo-run, and integrated PLC/DCS testing.
• Coordinate with design, construction, instrumentation, vendors, and subcontractors to close punch lists and resolve electrical faults.
• Prepare commissioning reports, test packs, red-line drawings, turnover documentation, and support handover and performance testing.

Requirements

• 10–12 years of electrical commissioning experience in Oil & Gas, power generation, or petrochemical projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, protection, control schemes, and electrical testing procedures.
• Experience with IEC, IEEE, and ADNOC electrical standards and Permit-to-Work procedures.
• Training or certification in electrical safety, Lockout–Tagout, PTW, or HV/LV safety is preferred; ADNOC-approved or equivalent certification is advantageous.
• Full professional proficiency in English required. Strong documentation, leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary coordination skills are expected.

Nice to have

• Experience with SCMS, SCADA integration, system turnover software, and AutoCAD red-line updates.
• Experience with ADNOC, QP, or Aramco projects under EPC or PMC contractors.
• Familiarity with Megger, OMICRON, Doble, relay test sets, primary and secondary injection kits, and multimeters.
