Financial Controller (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Own financial control and the finance function for hirify.global Japan, including cash management, nominal ledger, fixed assets, reconciliations, credit control, and product costing.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets, year-end reporting packs, statutory accounts, and financial analyses for capital projects.
• Manage local tax affairs, VAT returns, corporation tax reporting, payroll, and liaison with tax authorities and external advisors.
• Maintain effective accounting systems, controls, risk assessments, governance procedures, and compliance with Group policies and Japanese legal requirements.
• Partner with the Japan Country Manager and Sector Managers by explaining financial trends, variances, business performance, and profitability.
• Develop the finance team through hands-on training and improve working capital management, accounting processes, and project visibility.

Requirements

• Post-qualification experience, including senior financial experience in a multinational company.
• Commercial finance experience and the ability to work with customers, suppliers, professional advisors, and internal stakeholders.
• Experience with credit risk, financial systems implementation, accounting controls, and statutory or management reporting.
• Ability to manage staff at junior and senior levels and operate effectively within a global matrix structure.
• Full proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Strategic judgment, integrity, resilience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment and travel internationally.
