Operator - Refinery Operations (Oil & Gas)

Location: 90 Refinery Road, Corio, Australia; onsite refinery operations with a rotating shift roster

What you will do

• Monitor and operate refinery process units and associated equipment.
• Conduct plant inspections, field rounds, start-ups, shutdowns and equipment isolations.
• Monitor process conditions and respond to abnormal operating situations.
• Participate in permit-to-work, isolation and lockout/tagout activities.
• Support maintenance through plant preparation and reinstatement.
• Maintain operational logs, complete shift handovers, investigate incidents and contribute to continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Previous experience in refinery operations, oil and gas, petrochemical processing, chemical manufacturing, LNG, mining processing or a similar heavy industrial environment.
• Experience in major hazard facilities or other complex, highly regulated and safety-critical environments.
• Strong commitment to safety, process safety and operational procedures.
• Problem-solving, decision-making, communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work a rotating shift roster.
• Full working rights for employment in Australia are required.

Nice to have

• Certificate III or IV in Process Plant Operations, Chemical Operations, Engineering Production Systems or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of permit-to-work systems, isolation procedures, risk management and process safety management.
• Exposure to distributed control systems and control room operations.
