Research & Development Specialist (Virtual Fencing)

Location: On-site in Waikato near Morrinsville, with regular time at the Auckland HQ

hirify.global develops virtual fencing technology that helps farmers run more productive and sustainable livestock operations.

What you will do

• Assist with and run trials to further develop the virtual fencing product.
• Use internal tools to analyse data generated by hirify.global collars and support product decisions.
• Test and validate software prototypes and new functionalities on the Waikato R&D farm.
• Contribute to brainstorming and feature design with engineers.
• Participate in and lead cross-functional projects delivering value for farmers and animals.
• Visit customer farms and ranches for on-site support and research.

Requirements

• Strong motivation, initiative, and willingness to learn; prior R&D experience is not required.
• Excellent critical thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Comfort working with ambiguity, asking questions, sharing opinions, and developing creative solutions.
• Willingness to work outdoors on the farm for approximately half of the role and work directly with cattle.
• Ability to work on-site in the Waikato near Morrinsville and regularly at the Auckland HQ.
• Readiness to work beyond a standard 9-to-5 schedule when required.
