What you will do
- Provide daily care, feeding, weighing, and welfare monitoring for research animals.
- Assist with sample and tissue collection, blood sampling, metabolic assessments, and study procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, databases, and study documentation.
- Prepare treatments, consumables, and study materials.
- Support behavioural, physiological, and metabolic testing activities.
- Maintain hygiene, animal husbandry, facility compliance, and health and safety standards.
Requirements
- Experience caring for animals, ideally in a research, laboratory, agricultural, or veterinary environment.
- Knowledge of animal welfare principles and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate record-keeping.
- Competence with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary research team.
- Previous laboratory animal experience is advantageous.
