EHS Senior Specialist

Location: Cary, North Carolina, United States; onsite five days a week. Travel up to 25%.

Salary: $112,710.00–$169,060.00 annually.

What you will do

• Identify environmental, health, and safety hazards and establish protection guidelines.
• Ensure completion of EHS training and compliance with regulatory, facility, division, and enterprise objectives.
• Audit EHS programs against company standards, government regulations, and local conditions.
• Monitor performance reports, identify trends and problems, and recommend improvements to line management.
• Develop EHS policies, safety plans, incident reporting procedures, vendor assessment criteria, and pollution and waste reduction measures.
• Collaborate across departments, interpret risk reports, and support EHS management and compliance.

Requirements

• Experience serving as an individual contributor on complex Environmental, Health and/or Safety projects and assignments supporting facility performance and compliance.
• Ability to assess environmental impacts of vendors, formulate health and safety plans, train employees, and design incident reporting procedures.
• Experience with decision-making, data analysis, risk assessment and management, and evaluation of risks relevant to the function or business unit.
• Ability to build productive relationships, influence stakeholders, resolve conflicting viewpoints, and collaborate across teams and departments.
• Ability to identify problems, evaluate resolution alternatives, assess risks and benefits, and use fact-finding and diagnostic techniques.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of sustainability concepts, objectives, practices, data collection, analysis, and administrative support.
• Experience with collaborative processes across generations, functions, regions, and organizational levels.
• Experience overcoming resistance to change, managing changing responsibilities, and communicating the impact of change.
