Lead Data Engineer (AI)

Location: Miami, FL, United States; primarily a sedentary office position with up to 10% travel to hirify.global divisions.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operationalize production-grade data engineering solutions for enterprise data and analytics platforms.
• Architect ETL, ELT, streaming ingestion, and delivery processes across disparate production systems.
• Develop and containerize modular Python data applications and utility scripts on modern cloud infrastructure.
• Improve data ingestion architecture, data quality, cost-performance, maintainability, and extensibility across storage and compute layers.
• Define engineering standards covering modular code, version control, automated testing, secure CI/CD, schema evolution, monitoring, metrics, and alerting.
• Partner with data science teams to build data layers for Generative AI, RAG, LLM frameworks, and self-service analytics.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with data architecture, enterprise modeling, data warehousing, cloud data lakes, and multi-layer Bronze/Silver/Gold designs.
• 3–6 years of advanced Python development, AWS services and containerization, Snowflake administration, dbt projects, and complex data transformations.
• Experience with AWS ECS, ECR, S3, IAM, Lambda, EC2, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
• Strong knowledge of Snowflake Data Sharing, Time Travel, zero-copy cloning, virtual warehouse clustering, and cost optimization.
• Experience with incremental loading, CDC, external REST APIs, Git/GitHub branching, pull request enforcement, and automated deployment pipelines.
• Experience implementing data governance, RBAC, compliance, secure environments, testing, QA, and resilient error handling.

Nice to have

• AWS certification.
• Experience with Prefect, Airflow, or similar workflow orchestration tools.
• Experience with Qlik Replicate.
• Exposure to Snowflake Cortex, AWS Bedrock, LangChain, vector databases, or text embedding generation.
