Network Operational Resident Engineer (Juniper)

Location: Onsite at the client site in Columbus, Ohio, 5 days per week

Salary: USD 92,600–213,500 annual base salary in Ohio

What you will do

• Provide reactive and proactive onsite operational support for Juniper production networks and enterprise wireless environments.
• Gather requirements, analyze customer architectures, and design, test, validate, and deploy network features and changes.
• Design, maintain, and optimize large-scale wireless networks, including capacity planning, coverage analysis, RF tuning, roaming, and client experience.
• Investigate complex wired and wireless incidents using packet captures, RF analysis, monitoring tools, and Juniper Mist Marvis AI.
• Manage JTAC cases, hardware lifecycle activities, maintenance windows, migrations, upgrades, and major incident response.
• Deliver customer workshops, technical presentations, knowledge transfer, training, operational documentation, and status reporting.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience designing, implementing, and operating large-scale IP networks.
• Strong JUNOS CLI experience with deep expertise in Juniper QFX and EX switching and routing platforms.
• Experience with enterprise or data center networks, EVPN/VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, and Juniper Mist Wireless Assurance.
• Expertise in wireless RF technologies, site surveys, predictive modeling, interference analysis, packet capture, and client roaming optimization.
• Automation and scripting experience with Ansible, YAML, Juniper PyEZ, and Python.
• Strong customer communication, presentation, relationship management, and executive engagement skills.
