TL;DR
RF Engineering Intern (Aerospace) (RF systems and spacecraft): Designing, manufacturing, and testing custom RF systems for spacecraft development with an accent on component selection, link budgets, validation, and RF front-end simulation. Focus on troubleshooting PCB and system-level hardware, running lab measurements, and supporting test and flight product manufacturing.
Location: Onsite in Redondo Beach, California, for the duration of the 12-week internship
Compensation: $32.00 per hour, with overtime eligibility

What you will do
- Design, manufacture, and test custom RF systems for spacecraft applications.
- Evaluate and select RF components from vendors for system integration.
- Run simulations and generate link budgets for early-stage wireless designs.
- Design and execute validation plans for RF system designs.
- Develop RF schematics and layouts for test and flight products and support manufacturing.
- Collaborate with RF, avionics, software, and mechanical engineers on system bringup and testing.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience troubleshooting PCBs at board or system level.
- Understanding of RF and microwave concepts, including transmission lines, S-parameters, amplifiers, and splitters.
- Hands-on laboratory experience with RF test equipment.
- Familiarity with RF simulation software such as CST, HFSS, or ADS.
- Must be willing and able to work onsite in Redondo Beach, California, and meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements.
Nice to have
- Python scripting experience.
- Experience with test setups for power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, or filters.
- Experience working in teams combining hardware and software engineering.
- Experience with Altium Designer.
