Developer Copywriter (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; hybrid policy requiring staff to work from an office at least 25% of the time

What you will do

• Own developer-facing copy for brand campaigns across product launches, social, paid media, events, and enterprise contexts.
• Build a developer voice and tone guide with Comms and Dev Rel, including reusable templates and examples.
• Develop launch narratives and short-form copy from expert and technical source material without sacrificing accuracy.
• Partner with Dev Rel, Claude Code leadership, developer marketing, brand design, program management, and Comms.
• Present creative rationale, manage technical and communications feedback, and ensure external accuracy.
• Track how developer-facing work performs and use the findings to improve messaging and writing systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience writing for developers or technical audiences.
• A portfolio demonstrating both technical and brand writing, including work shared or valued by developers.
• Ability to explain developer trust signals in changelogs, documentation, and technical communications.
• Ability to adapt expert material into concise, accurate copy and launch narratives.
• Experience working directly with technical teams and collaborating with engineers or Dev Rel as creative partners.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Dev Rel or engineering teams, developer launches, voice and tone guides, style systems, or writing templates.
• Familiarity with the AI developer ecosystem, coding tools, APIs, and how developers evaluate them.
• Experience writing for enterprise or executive audiences, maintaining a newsletter, or producing public writing.
