Full Stack Data Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Build and maintain internal web applications for flight-record browsing, data querying, and engineering analysis.
• Develop Python backend services and HTTP APIs that query Athena and S3, with pagination and caching for large result sets.
• Create responsive interfaces with sortable tables, filters, and time-series visualizations for large telemetry datasets.
• Build AI-assisted, agent-based diagnostic tools that expose source data and derivation paths for verifiable results.
• Turn recurring analyses from firmware, GNC, battery, and maintenance teams into supported self-service tools.
• Generate a machine-readable data catalog, build fleet-alert review surfaces, and package analysis tools for engineers, including Windows users.

Requirements

• On-site work in Palo Alto, California, United States
• At least 2 years of professional experience building and shipping full-stack web applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, plus experience with React, Vue, or another modern JavaScript or TypeScript framework.
• Experience building and consuming HTTP APIs, including authentication, pagination, and error handling.
• Comfort with Git-based workflows, code review, CI/CD, and collaborating directly with non-software engineering users.

Nice to have

• AWS experience with S3, Athena, Lambda, or API Gateway.
• Experience with large or time-series datasets, charting libraries, or Grafana.
• Docker, Terraform, LLM APIs, or agent frameworks for structured data.
• Experience with aerospace, automotive, robotics telemetry, desktop tooling, Windows packaging, SSO, IAM, or safety-critical systems.
• Experience building internal tools for colleagues rather than external customers.
