Manufacturing Engineering Intern Summer 2027 (Aerospace)

Location: Middle River, Maryland, United States; full-time, on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027

What you will do

• Support the Manufacturing Team in manufacturing stages for the Neutron rocket.
• Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real manufacturing challenges.
• Work with mentors and department employees to develop technical and professional skills.
• Lead development projects with increasing independence and provide progress updates through regular 1:1 meetings.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver manufacturing results.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in engineering, physics, or mathematics, with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
• Have a GPA of at least 3.0.
• Have at least 3 months of applied engineering experience through an internship, laboratory work, or personal/team projects.
• Be able to work full-time on-site in Middle River, Maryland, for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027.
• For U.S. office work, meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.5 or above and at least 6 months of applied engineering experience.
• Fabrication, CAD/CAM, 3D printing, or robotics experience.
• Knowledge of industrial processes and exposure to composite materials.
