Security Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $240,000–$260,000 plus equity

hirify.global is a San Francisco and New York City-based startup building digital account-opening infrastructure for community banks and credit unions.

What you will do

• Define and operate the security program as the first dedicated security hire.
• Improve the secure SDLC through dependency scanning, static analysis, security reviews, developer enablement, and penetration-test coordination.
• Partner with DevOps on IAM, secrets management, network architecture, logging, and detection.
• Own security policies, risk assessments, roadmaps, vendor risk reviews, questionnaires, and customer security reviews.
• Lead SOC 2 Type II control design, evidence collection, and auditor management.
• Develop incident-response plans, run tabletop exercises, and lead response to real incidents.

Requirements

• 5+ years of security engineering experience across application security, cloud security, and compliance.
• Ability to read code, write scripts, and configure cloud security controls hands-on.
• Experience owning or significantly contributing to a SOC 2, ISO 27001, or equivalent audit.
• Experience responding to enterprise or financial-institution security reviews.
• Strong written communication and sound judgment about proportional security controls.
• Ability to work remotely from within the United States.

Nice to have

• Fintech or banking-vendor experience, including familiarity with FFIEC, GLBA, or bank third-party risk management.
• Experience as a first or early security hire.
• Detection engineering or SIEM experience.
• Familiarity with core banking integrations or PII/KYC data flows.
