Health Information Management Specialist

Location: Onsite at Ballad - Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee; limited to individuals who reside and are authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $18.65–$19.90 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Analyze and reanalyze medical records accurately and on time.
• Complete accounts from EMR documentation work queues when missing records are received.
• Follow up with ancillary, nursing, and provider departments regarding missing documentation and dictation.
• Review electronic medical records, create charting deficiencies, and assign them to the appropriate providers.
• Manage electronic and manual analysis work queues and maintain unbilled account status updates.
• Identify workflow and compliance issues, document process changes, and escalate facility-level problems to management.

Requirements

• Entry-level candidates are welcome.
• Knowledge of CMS and Joint Commission regulations is preferred.
• EMR experience is preferred.
• Healthcare revenue cycle or acute-care facility HIM experience is preferred.
• Must demonstrate curiosity and openness to innovation, including AI.
• CRCR certification is required within 9 months of hire; the company pays for the certification.
