Senior Director, Portfolio Strategy and Governance - Hematology

Salary: $214,500–$284,500 annually

What you will do

• Lead hematology portfolio governance for the Hematology Development Review Committee and related senior forums.
• Shape agendas, decision objectives, executive-ready materials, meeting facilitation, documentation, minutes, and action-item tracking.
• Lead hematology input into annual portfolio strategy reviews, prioritization, development pathways, lifecycle opportunities, and investment sequencing.
• Use competitive intelligence, external benchmarks, and industry context to assess differentiation, productivity, value, and investment priorities.
• Align R&D, Commercial, Finance, Program Management, Forecasting, Competitive Intelligence, Communications, Investor Relations, and Governance stakeholders.
• Support executive and Board-level portfolio updates and lead process improvements that strengthen decision quality and organizational follow-through.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, business, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in drug development, portfolio strategy, program management, commercial strategy, consulting, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related life sciences roles.
• 5+ years in leadership roles within a multicultural, international, and matrixed portfolio environment.
• Strong understanding of drug development, governance decision processes, portfolio prioritization, lifecycle planning, and cross-functional operating models.
• Experience influencing senior R&D and Commercial leaders and translating complex scientific, clinical, commercial, and financial information into decision-ready narratives.
• Experience with governance forums, development review committees, stage-gate processes, or enterprise portfolio prioritization in a biotech or pharmaceutical organization.

Nice to have

• Hematology and oncology experience.
• Advanced scientific degree, MBA, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with lifecycle strategy, competitive differentiation, accelerated development pathways, biomarker-defined populations, and combination or platform strategies.
