Associate Director, Payer and Clinical Operations

Location: United States; remote-first role

Salary: $133,567–$178,118 per year

What you will do

• Own onboarding and go-live readiness for new commercial and Medicaid payers.
• Maintain efficient payer operations, including AR processes, EFT setup, payment schedules, eligible sub-plans, and system updates.
• Own licensing and credentialing for clinical services, including IBCLC credentials, renewals, and audit readiness.
• Lead responses to audits, site inspections, license renewals, and major payer transitions.
• Build payer-level performance visibility and program-manage operational reporting and new business launches.
• Manage and develop two direct reports while partnering with billing/RCM, legal, product, customer support, and payer contracting.

Requirements

• Experience running payer operations at scale across multiple contract types or service lines.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare licensing, credentialing, state licensure, site inspections, and payer-level requirements.
• Direct experience managing payer relationships and commercial and Medicaid operations, including Medicaid expansion into new states.
• Experience with multi-state regulatory compliance and translating rule changes into documented processes and controls.
• Strong people management, process-building, requirements-writing, and cross-functional program management skills.
• Comfort using AI tools to improve productivity and output.
