Senior Software Engineer, Consumer Engineering

Location: Remote - United States

Base salary: $190,000–$267,000 USD per year, plus potential equity and commission depending on the position.

What you will do

• Partner with Product Management, Design, Data Science, and iOS, Android, and Web engineers to translate user and business needs into reliable, low-latency solutions.
• Own major product initiatives across technical design, API contracts, development, testing, rollout, and observability.
• Design, build, and evaluate A/B experiments using behavioral, conversion, and retention metrics.
• Build and maintain scalable GraphQL, REST, and gRPC APIs and distributed backend services.
• Improve engineering practices and developer workflows, mentor teammates, and use AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience with large-scale distributed serving systems in high-concurrency environments.
• Proficiency in Go or Python; experience with Java, Kotlin, Rust, or C++ is also relevant.
• Expertise in scalable API design using GraphQL, REST, or gRPC for mobile and web applications.
• Experience with high-throughput caching layers and distributed datastores such as Redis, Cassandra, or PostgreSQL.
• Strong user-centric, data-informed, collaborative, and self-directed approach to product engineering.
• Applicants must be based in the United States for this remote role.
