Trim Manager (Apparel)

Location: New York, NY, United States

Base salary: $80,000–$90,000 per year, plus benefits, a short-term incentive program, clothing allowance, and merchandise discounts.

What you will do

• Own seasonal trim development for assigned apparel categories from concept launch and supplier development through bulk approval and production handoff.
• Manage supplier relationships, including costing, lead times, MOQs, tooling, capacity, quality, performance, and commercial follow-up.
• Coordinate molds, prototypes, samples, testing, approvals, purchase orders, shipment tracking, and receipt reconciliation.
• Monitor domestic and overseas shipments, maintain WIP reports, communicate delivery status, and develop recovery plans for risks.
• Review bulk trims, BOMs, Trim Detail Sheets, testing results, customs documentation, and production records for accuracy and compliance.
• Partner with Design, Product Development, Production, factories, and suppliers on feasibility, sourcing, quality issues, inventory audits, process improvements, and seasonal execution.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of trim, raw materials, product development, or production experience in apparel.
• Experience independently managing trim development and bulk production workflows, including costing, lead times, MOQs, approvals, purchase orders, shipments, and receipt reconciliation.
• Strong technical knowledge of hardware, buttons, zippers, labels, packaging, grommets, and specialty trims; hardware experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with testing, quality, compliance, shipping, customs, supplier documentation, and production issue resolution.
• Proficiency in PLM systems and Excel; ability to manage overlapping seasons, high order volumes, changing priorities, and tight deadlines.
• Strong negotiation, organization, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
