Coder - Inpatient (CCS/CIC REQUIRED), Remote, Sign on Bonus Eligible

Location: Remote work from Pennsylvania, United States

Sign-on bonus: $10,000 with a two-year commitment.

What you will do

• Review medical records, physician treatment plans, clinical courses, and outcomes.
• Assign appropriate ICD codes for inpatient diagnoses and procedures.
• Abstract medical and demographic data for hospital, health system, and medical staff reporting.
• Enter coded and abstracted information into designated systems.
• Support efficient management of unbilled coding reports and related cash flow.
• Monitor ICD guideline updates and apply them in daily coding work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of hospital coding experience.
• Completed coursework in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Inpatient Professional Coder (CIC) certification required.
• Medical terminology knowledge, strong data-entry skills, and familiarity with computer applications.
• Ability to collaborate with healthcare team members and comply with HIPAA, privacy, security, and business conduct requirements.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in Health Information Management or a related field.
