Engineering Manager (Java/Spring Boot)

What you will do

• Own end-to-end delivery and execution across cross-functional teams, ensuring predictable and high-quality outcomes.
• Evaluate product requirements for technical feasibility and architectural alignment, translating them into EPICs, user stories, and actionable tasks.
• Partner with Product Managers, UX Designers, Engineers, and QA to refine and prioritize the backlog.
• Plan sprint execution, establish delivery milestones, track dependencies, and coordinate stakeholder alignment.
• Manage team velocity, capacity, resource allocation, and engineering processes to improve delivery efficiency.
• Guide technical decisions, participate in code reviews, and ensure monitoring, alerting, observability, SLIs, SLOs, and post-release metrics are maintained.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8–10 years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or in a similar hands-on technical role.
• At least 5 years of experience building production systems with Java and Spring Boot.
• At least 3 years of experience managing and mentoring high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong backend engineering expertise, Agile delivery experience, and the ability to translate complex requirements into structured EPICs, user stories, and tasks.
• Experience with production debugging, incident response, blameless root-cause analysis, CI/CD, release management, monitoring, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
