Mainframe Systems Programmer (CICS/MQ)

What you will do

• Install, upgrade, and manage CICS/MQ environments across test and production LPARs.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and perform root-cause and problem analysis.
• Support IBM Z and z/OS environments using SMP/E, ISPF/SDSF, USS, JES2, JCL, and related utilities.
• Maintain the sysplexed CICS/MQ environment and install third-party subsystem software.
• Build alerting and automation scripts, analyze performance metrics, and identify availability improvements.
• Participate in disaster recovery exercises, change inspections, infrastructure releases, and an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience analyzing, designing, coding, testing, implementing, and supporting technical solutions.
• At least 3 years of technical problem-solving, solution implementation, and team or project collaboration experience.
• Experience with mainframe systems programming, including z/OS concepts and utilities, RACF, TSO, JES2, SMP/E, JCL, Assembler, REXX, or Plex configurations.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery, product installation, problem diagnostics, maintenance updates, and large-scale technical solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience and education.
• Ability to work remotely from Pennsylvania, United States, with a flexible schedule and on-call availability.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
