Legal Intern (Fintech)

Location: Fully remote from Bogota, Colombia

What you will do

• Support the US Legal Team with day-to-day legal operations and document requests.
• Review liens, notices, agreements, and other legal documents for validity, accuracy, and compliance, escalating unusual issues.
• Draft and file lien documents, templates, and standard forms under legal supervision.
• Maintain electronic records of liens, contracts, corporate documents, trackers, and legal matter status reports.
• Track deadlines, filings, follow-ups, audits, and outstanding items while coordinating with counsel, operations, vendors, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Create playbooks, checklists, templates, and workflow improvements, including support for legal tools and databases.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Law, Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
• Advanced written and spoken English required for daily work with the US Legal Team and US-based external stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, document analysis, organization, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage confidential legal information and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated experience with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required.

Nice to have

• Exposure to US legal concepts and procedures, including Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code or secured transactions.
• Experience with legal software, databases, Jira, Asana, Notion, trackers, dashboards, or project plans.
• Interest in fintech, payments, or consumer lending.
