Software Engineer - Kubernetes (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Design, build, operate, and secure Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters across cloud-managed and self-managed environments.
• Develop network connectivity, provisioning strategies, RBAC, and cloud foundations for compliant mission platforms.
• Manage containers and platform configuration with Terraform, Helm, Ansible, and GitOps across development, test, and production environments.
• Implement and validate security controls, vulnerability remediation, STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, hardened images, and Zero Trust practices.
• Maintain IATT, ATO, and cATO readiness through continuous control validation, eMASS updates, SIAs, SRCs, POA&Ms, and Bodies of Evidence.
• Collaborate with ISSEs, ISSMs, DevSecOps engineers, COT, CPT, Value Stream teams, and Government stakeholders.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and TS/SCI clearance are required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or a related field, with a software development background.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience at a senior level, including technical leadership of major assignments.
• DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certification and Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift, Istio, GitOps, custom Operators, Helm charts, Admission Controllers, CRDs, Controllers, Linux, and networking.
• Experience with Docker, Terraform, Ansible, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or OCI, and Kubernetes security and compliance.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI clearance and an advanced technical degree.
• Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist, Red Hat OpenShift, or CCSP certification.
• Experience with DoD Enterprise DevSecOps, Iron Bank, Big Bang, hardened containers, cATO, and IL4–IL6 cloud environments.
• Experience with Twistlock, Anchore, container signing with cosign or sigstore, and micro-segmentation.
