Field Engineer (Flight Simulation)

Location: Arlington, Texas; overseas field assignment at Isa Air Base, Bahrain, with possible travel to other overseas locations. Only U.S. citizens are eligible due to U.S. Government contract requirements.

What you will do

• Maintain, calibrate, install, repair, and test F-16 flight simulators and related support equipment.
• Perform readiness checks, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance documentation.
• Install simulator updates and modifications and support equipment check-out activities.
• Work with integrated computer systems, video generation and display systems, digital interfaces, cables, software, and electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical components.
• Manage spares and inventory, prepare shipping crates and documentation, and process equipment for repair or return.
• Provide on-the-job training to Bahraini operators and maintainers and support other overseas locations as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electronics, a two-year electronics technician course, or equivalent military technical training and experience.
• At least five years of electronic maintenance experience with demonstrated competence on complex simulation systems.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to work overtime and off-shifts and remain on call 24/7 for problem resolution.
• Ability to work from engineering drawings, manuals, and written or verbal instructions to solve complex technical problems.
• Eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance is required by the security responsibilities section, although the position summary states that the role does not require obtaining a clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with integrated multi-computer systems, video generation and display systems, complex digital interfaces, high-density cable and plug repair, software maintenance, and training-device peripheral systems.
• CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification.
