Medical Record Retrieval Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Remote position for candidates living in the Orlando, Florida area; requires local travel up to 50% across Orange, Osceola, and surrounding counties, occasional overnight travel, and trips of up to one week to counties near Jacksonville.

What you will do

• Travel to physician offices and collect medical records using a laptop, portable scanner, and electronic medical record systems.
• Scan paper records or download electronic records to secure storage while meeting production goals and deadlines.
• Research and update provider site information in CarePlus internal systems.
• Handle phone calls, electronic faxing, internet searches, and email communication.
• Communicate professionally with provider offices and clearly document resolutions.
• Follow HIPAA confidentiality standards to protect member information.

Requirements

• Live in the Orlando, Florida area and be able to travel locally up to 50% of the time.
• At least one year of telephonic environment or office-based customer service experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to learn new computer systems quickly.
• Reliable car transportation and the ability to travel overnight occasionally within the region.
• Valid state driver's license and personal vehicle liability insurance with limits of at least 100/300/100.
• Successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report as part of the background check process.

Nice to have

• Experience retrieving medical or health information in a hospital, healthcare, or medical office setting.
• Experience with managed care, medical terminology, or EMR systems.
• Medical record retrieval or broader healthcare experience.
• Bilingual English and Spanish proficiency.

• Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, generally from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with timing subject to travel and business needs.
