Payroll Consultant

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $57,000–$65,000 per year, with bonus potential

Consulting company helping businesses use UKG and SAP technologies through payroll and related professional services.

What you will do

• Process payroll for multiple clients across weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly pay frequencies.
• Validate, balance, finalize, and transmit payroll data, including earnings, deductions, taxes, bonuses, and adjustments.
• Serve as the primary payroll contact for assigned clients and provide consultative support on payroll practices and compliance.
• Support federal, state, and local tax filings, amendments, quarter-end activities, and year-end processes such as W-2s and 941s.
• Investigate payroll discrepancies and coordinate issue resolution with tax, benefits, and HRIS teams.
• Maintain payroll configurations and documentation, track billable time, and identify process automation opportunities.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of multi-client payroll processing experience.
• Strong experience with multi-frequency payroll processing and multi-state payroll tax requirements.
• Experience with payroll systems; UKG experience is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines concurrently.
• CPP certification.
• Must be based in the United States for this remote role.

Nice to have

• Experience in a managed services or consulting environment.
• Year-end payroll experience, including W-2s, audits, and corrections.
• Completed degree from an accredited university.
