Field Service Technician I (Trace and X-Ray Technologies)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, USA; daily travel to customer sites in and around the Chicago metropolitan area, including O'Hare International Airport, is required.

Salary: $64,680–$87,560 per year, plus a competitive Business Profit Plan and benefits.

What you will do

• Install, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot field equipment, including Trace and X-Ray technologies.
• Provide technical support and customer training while resolving daily service and repair needs.
• Document inspections, maintenance, repairs, open issues, and customer reports.
• Order, install, and return parts while managing repair parts cycle time and service costs.
• Maintain and calibrate tools and test equipment and recommend equipment improvements based on field data.
• Support site surveys, pilot programs, service meetings, and service sales opportunities.

Requirements

• Associate's degree, related trade certification, or military training in electrical, electronic, or mechanical disciplines; comparable experience may be accepted.
• 1–3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical or electronic systems and equipment in the field.
• Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn specialized software.
• Strong communication, customer service, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills; willingness to travel on short notice.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 80 pounds, push or pull up to 200 pounds, and move equipment weighing up to 1,000 pounds with assistance.
• Successful TSA vetting and federal background investigation may be required; a U.S. personal security clearance may also be required.
