Technology Risk Consultant (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based at offices in Halifax, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds or Manchester, with at least two days per week or 40% of working time spent onsite.

Salary: £67,023–£74,470 per year

What you will do

• Provide independent oversight of IT systems and technology resilience risks across infrastructure and enterprise platforms.
• Review risk events, issues and controls, applying constructive challenge and supporting effective governance outcomes.
• Analyse operational and risk data to identify trends, emerging risks and decision-ready insights.
• Support the embedding of controls across technology platforms and identify opportunities for automation.
• Assess the impact of resilience, change activity, third-party dependencies and emerging technologies.
• Build relationships with technology, engineering, operations, risk and governance stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience supporting technology risk management and enabling informed risk decisions.
• Ability to analyse complex information, identify trends and translate findings into clear recommendations.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, infrastructure, networks, databases, storage and modern application architectures.
• Experience working across technology, operations, risk and governance functions in a complex organisation.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and constructive challenge skills.
• Understanding of technology resilience, operational resilience and IT systems control domains is valuable.

Nice to have

• Experience with reliable engineering, redundancy, asset management, change, capacity, incident management or disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and their effect on technology risk, including AI, Digital Ledger Technology and quantum technologies.
