Payroll & Pensions Officer

Location: Hybrid role in Flixton, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom

Salary: £24,000–£25,000 per annum, with potential for a higher salary

What you will do

• Process payroll accurately within contractual timeframes, including leavers, contract changes, expenses, and monthly checks.
• Identify and raise payroll errors or inaccuracies with the payroll provider.
• Provide statutory deduction information and maintain accurate shared parental leave and maternity leave schedules.
• Update employer pension contribution rates with the payroll provider.
• Liaise with HMRC on taxation issues.
• Attend monthly contract management meetings and work with People and Finance teams on continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Experience in payroll and pensions.
• Knowledge of tax codes, deductions, Statutory Maternity Pay, and Statutory Sick Pay.
• Experience using payroll systems.
• A continuous improvement mindset.
• Availability for 29 hours per week across four or five days, during school term time plus two additional weeks.
