What you will do

  • Lead the Genomic Medicine Application function and shape application strategy, portfolio growth, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team of application scientists and specialists.
  • Drive early design-in of Cytiva consumables by translating customer workflow requirements into product specifications and bills of materials.
  • Lead new application development, qualify adjacent markets, and support adoption of advanced technologies.
  • Provide scientific and technical support through customer experiments, demonstrations, seminars, training, and pre- and post-sale engagements.
  • Connect customers with Sales, Product Management, R&D, and Marketing while ensuring application activities meet compliance, quality, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in biotechnology, life sciences, or a related field; an advanced degree in cell biology, biochemistry, immunology, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
  • At least 8 years of applications or field application experience in biotechnology or life sciences, with expertise in gene therapy, viral vectors, or upstream/downstream nucleic acid processes.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading technical teams, with a record of building and developing application scientists or specialists.
  • Experience influencing customer process and workflow design, specifying consumables or solutions, and developing new applications.
  • Strong technical, commercial, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, including the ability to present to technical decision-makers and scientific audiences.
  • Fluent spoken and written English required; willingness to travel 30–50% or more.
