External Innovation Technical Scout (Bioconjugation)

What you will do

• Identify, evaluate, and track emerging bioconjugation technologies across China, including conjugates, linkers, payloads, enabling chemistries, analytical methods, and manufacturing approaches.
• Monitor academic research, biotech startups, CROs/CDMOs, bioconjugation and ADC platform companies, and venture fund activity for breakthrough technologies.
• Assess platforms for novelty, feasibility, scalability, intellectual property position, and strategic fit, and translate findings into value propositions for R&D, strategy, and business stakeholders.
• Build relationships with universities, research institutes, biotech companies, incubators, innovation hubs, and venture capital firms in China.
• Represent the organization at scientific conferences, partnering events, and site visits in China and Asia while tracking competitive activity, technology trends, policy, funding, and the Chinese IP landscape.
• Connect China-based innovation with global R&D, licensing, innovation, chemistry, biologics, CMC, translational science, and IP teams, supporting collaboration, licensing, and research partnerships.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or equivalent professional qualification or experience in chemistry, biology, biochemical engineering, biochemistry, chemical biology, bioconjugation, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in technology scouting, search, and evaluation.
• Demonstrated ability to identify novel technologies and move them forward.
• Strong understanding of bioconjugation technologies and modalities for modern therapeutics, including applications beyond oncology.
• Bilingual Mandarin and English capability is required.
• Ability to operate credibly at the interface of science, strategy, external collaboration, and internal subject-matter expertise.
