Intern, Pharm Process Modeling

What you will do

• Contribute to process modeling and digitalization for pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
• Model film-coating operations for synthetic drug products to improve process understanding, technical transfer, and production control.
• Review scientific literature and translate physical and chemical knowledge into mathematical formulations.
• Upgrade existing models, integrate improvements into code, and apply models to real-world data.
• Extract and curate data from multiple data hubs and documents, evaluate model performance, and document activities.
• Convert models into user-friendly applications and collaborate with business partners and cross-functional researchers.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program in Chemical Engineering, Biological and Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or an equivalent field.
• Legally authorized to work in China without requiring employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Proficiency in Python, including pandas, pydantic, and scipy, or other programming languages.
• Strong knowledge of algebra and ordinary differential equations.
• Self-motivated approach, scientific problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese are required.

Nice to have

• Experience modeling physicochemical phenomena using knowledge-driven or data-driven methods.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical processes, especially film coating.
• Experience with application development.
