Machine Learning Developer (AI)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The role may require in-person onboarding and/or in-person identity verification. Key team locations include Toronto, Montreal, San Francisco, and Vancouver.

Salary: CAD 110,000–160,600 annual base salary for Canada-based roles; offers may exceed this range and may include bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Review media- and motion-focused machine learning research and assess feasibility and generalizability.
• Implement new machine learning results, improve existing models, and develop large-scale motion prediction models.
• Build end-to-end workflows, experimental pipelines, prototypes, and data-driven motion editing solutions.
• Process and prepare data at scale, train models, tune hyperparameters, and analyze model errors.
• Collaborate on research projects within a globally based team and report findings to project and program leads.
• Maintain scalable, high-quality implementations for shared code repositories using modern coding tools.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, AI/ML, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of deep learning architectures, regularization, loss functions, learning methods, and optimization.
• Deep understanding of statistical machine learning, including Bayesian methods, HMMs, graphical models, dimensionality reduction, clustering, classification, and regression.
• Proficiency with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scalable compute, storage, bandwidth infrastructure, and orchestration layers.
• Experience with time-series analytics, prediction, fundamental computer science algorithms, and applying machine learning libraries to business problems.
• Experience with assisted coding environments and scalable, high-velocity code-generation practices.

Nice to have

• Production experience in entertainment or adjacent industries and familiarity with creative workflows.
• Experience collaborating with creatives and producers.
• Knowledge of media pipelines and practical data modeling.
• Passion for entertainment and experience using creative software.
