Commercial Closing Officer (Commercial Lending)

Location: Radnor, Pennsylvania, United States of America; open to locations within the M&T footprint.

Salary: $32.89–$54.81 per hour (USD).

What you will do

• Manage commercial loan closings from credit approval through funding and booking.
• Validate loan documentation, due diligence, collateral, covenants, settlement terms, and system inputs.
• Complete commercial closing checklists and prepare transactions for Senior Closing Officer review and clear-to-close approval.
• Coordinate with Relationship Managers, Underwriters, Credit, Treasury, Legal, bank counsel, and external counsel.
• Identify documentation gaps, exceptions, and regulatory or operational risks; escalate issues and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage multiple complex, multi-party closings and last-minute modifications while meeting deadlines and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of commercial loan closing, documentation, operations, or administration experience; alternatively, seven years of combined higher education and relevant experience with at least three related years.
• Experience managing commercial closing transactions from approval through funding and identifying and escalating exceptions before funding.
• Strong knowledge of commercial loan products, lending structures, documentation requirements, risk controls, and regulatory standards.
• Ability to manage multiple closings simultaneously with strong attention to data quality and integrity.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and cross-functional communication skills.
• Experience with commercial loan origination platforms such as nCino.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with loan approval, escalation, and exception requirements.
• Knowledge of lending policies, products, systems, and workflows.
• Paralegal or related experience in lending operations, underwriting, or customer service.
