Director, Order to Revenue Compliance (SaaS)

Location: Central or West Coast, United States

Salary: $160,000–$275,000 USD annually, depending on pay zone; additional bonus, equity, and benefits may apply.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and scale a specialized compliance team covering partnerships and royalties, engineering compliance, and issue resolution.
• Oversee usage-related processes to ensure accurate, complete, SOX-compliant data before customer billing and revenue conversion.
• Own inbound and outbound royalty reporting, execution, and complex reconciliations involving Azure/Microsoft, AWS, GCP, and SAP.
• Partner with Engineering and Finance Data Systems before product launches to validate metering, pricing models, SKUs, and billing logic.
• Lead external and internal audits involving platform consumption calculations and monetization structures.
• Oversee usage issue resolution, refund and credit standards, and cross-functional root-cause analysis of metering defects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related technical field.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in revenue accounting, IT audit, and SOX control frameworks.
• Experience applying ASC 606 to consumption-based or usage-based revenue models, SaaS, and complex partner royalty agreements.
• Experience managing managers or functional leads and collaborating with Engineering, Sales Operations, FP&A, executives, and external auditors.
• Ability to connect product metering engines, SQL and data pipelines, sub-ledgers, accounting rules, and contract terms.
• CPA license preferred.
