Data Engineering Manager (Regulatory Compliance)

What you will do

• Manage the day-to-day activities of the data engineering team, including goal setting, mentorship, coaching, performance management, and feedback.
• Communicate with state and provincial regulatory professionals and establish clear expectations.
• Lead data-related projects from inception through delivery across analytics, finance, compliance, product, and engineering stakeholders.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, infrastructure, workflow tooling, and data engineering architecture.
• Drive performance, scalability, reliability, and data quality for analytics initiatives.
• Manage high-responsibility workstreams with strict deadlines and audit requirements.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in data-oriented leadership or management and at least 5 years of software or data development experience.
• Experience leading teams of 3 or more engineers.
• Strong foundations in computer science, distributed systems, software and systems design, data architecture, and governance.
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow tools such as Airflow, dbt, and AWS Lambda.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, Python, Docker, and cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
• Strong communication, presentation, project management, prioritization, delegation, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in a regulated industry.
• Web experience with React, Django, or Flask.
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts, Kubernetes, Terraform, GCP, or AWS.
