Forward Deployed Engineer (Generative AI)

Location: Fully remote from anywhere within Japan; Tokyo listed as the company location. Core hours are 10:00–14:00.

Expected annual salary: ¥7,500,000–¥15,000,000

Japan-based AI technology company developing proprietary Japanese-language LLMs and enterprise solutions combining LLMs, high-accuracy RAG, and AI agents. Solutions have been implemented at more than 300 companies, including major enterprises.

What you will do

• Translate customer business challenges into technical and system requirements.
• Support proposals, assess feasibility and constraints, and define development scope and resources.
• Design architectures and technical roadmaps for Generative AI solutions.
• Lead projects technically from PoC through production deployment.
• Develop prototypes and production solutions using LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and related technologies.
• Collaborate with consultants, backend engineers, data scientists, SREs, and product teams to improve platforms and products.

Requirements

• Experience in system development at an SIer or in commissioned/custom development projects.
• Practical experience in system design and implementation.
• Ability to research, validate, and solve unfamiliar technical challenges independently.
• Experience communicating directly with customers and solving business challenges through technology.
• Ability to combine technical consulting with hands-on development and understand architecture diagrams and system constraints.
• Business-level Japanese communication, including technical topics, and residence in Japan are required.

Nice to have

• Solution Architecture experience and Generative AI or RAG project experience.
• Infrastructure architecture knowledge.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, Docker, Terraform, TypeScript, Vue.js, Node.js, or Python.
• Experience defining technical requirements and engineering resources or working at a startup or venture company.
