Portfolio Analyst Intern (Fixed Income)

Location: Hybrid in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States; Tuesday through Thursday in the office and Monday and Friday from home.

Salary: $21 per hour

What you will do

• Support portfolio analysts, tactical portfolio managers, and portfolio strategists managing fixed income portfolios.
• Create and update weekly, monthly, and quarterly portfolio management reports.
• Prepare monthly client reporting packages for company divisions.
• Build knowledge of the investment industry and economy through readings, meetings, and projects.
• Develop skills with investment software such as Aladdin and Bloomberg.
• Support miscellaneous special projects.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled full-time at a college or university and pursuing a business or related degree.
• Must not have completed an undergraduate degree or graduate before the internship ends.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; detail-oriented and dependable.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States without immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query or VBA.
• Exposure to Power BI.
• Knowledge of economics, economic data, and economic forecasting.
• Understanding of finance, investments, and fixed income.
• Ability to create solutions using spreadsheets, databases, analytical software, and graphics.
