Senior Staff Software Engineer, Developer Infrastructure (AI)

Location: New York City or Menlo Park office; in-person attendance required at least 3 days per week

Base pay: $264,000–$310,000 USD annually, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the technical direction and long-term roadmap for Developer Infrastructure across DevX, TestX, Backend Platform, and Mobile Platform.
• Lead Bazel-based monorepo infrastructure, remote build execution, and language-agnostic build optimization across Python, Go, TypeScript, and other platforms.
• Scale CI/CD pipelines, repository configuration, pre-merge checks, and test execution infrastructure for thousands of daily builds.
• Drive test infrastructure, integration test environments, and personal development environments that simulate the full Robinhood system.
• Integrate AI, agentic systems, intelligent code review, and coding agents into the software development lifecycle.
• Set technical standards for runtimes, libraries, IDE tooling, developer environments, and security across backend and mobile platforms.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience and a track record at Senior Staff, Principal, or Distinguished Engineer level.
• Deep expertise with Bazel, large-scale monorepos, and remote build execution infrastructure.
• Experience operating large-scale CI/CD systems across multiple programming languages and complex pre-merge logic.
• Fluency in Go and/or Python; familiarity with TypeScript, Swift, or Android development environments.
• Strong background in distributed systems, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and preferably AWS.
• Experience with test infrastructure or developer environment platforms, plus exceptional technical leadership, communication, mentoring, and organizational influence.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with agentic AI systems, automated code review, or AI-driven developer productivity programs.
