Senior Director, Production Operations - Satellite and Spacecraft

Location: Louisville, Colorado, United States. The position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. security clearance.

Salary: $216,886–$298,217.50 per year.

What you will do

• Own manufacturing, assembly, integration, and test operations for satellite and spacecraft product lines across multiple facilities.
• Scale production from development programs into repeatable, high-rate manufacturing while balancing throughput, yield, cost, quality, and schedule.
• Standardize production processes, workflows, operating systems, and performance metrics across sites.
• Lead capacity planning, facility buildouts, equipment procurement, production-line commissioning, and secure manufacturing planning.
• Implement manufacturing execution systems and production data infrastructure for traceability and real-time decision-making.
• Build and develop multi-layered production organizations and represent operational performance to executives, customers, suppliers, and government stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, integration, or operations in complex technical industries, including senior leadership of large teams and multi-site operations.
• Proven leadership of satellite, spacecraft, or complex aerospace production at scale, including assembly, integration, and test operations.
• Experience with production scaling, process standardization, MES, KPI dashboards, design-for-manufacturing, and design-for-test.
• Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, or TPS; strong financial, cost-management, executive communication, and organizational-change capabilities.
• Active Top Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one; U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with LEO, MEO, or GEO satellites and military or commercial spacecraft programs.
• Knowledge of avionics, RF systems, solar arrays, thermal control, propulsion integration, life support, and environmental testing.
• Experience with vertically integrated manufacturing, classified production, SCIF-based operations, robotics, or advanced aerospace production data systems.
• Master’s degree in engineering, operations, business, or a related field.
