Senior Solar Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $140,000–$175,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Own manufacturing processes for solar modules, photovoltaic array integration, and associated mechanical structures from development through production.
• Develop, qualify, and maintain assembly procedures, tooling requirements, and build sequences for repeatable production at scale.
• Provide design-for-manufacturing feedback to the Solar Design team and identify producibility risks early.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions for build escapes, non-conformances, and process failures.
• Support the sourcing and qualification of manufacturing equipment, fixtures, and tooling while managing vendor relationships.
• Mentor Manufacturing Engineering team members and represent manufacturing engineering in design and build-readiness reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace, materials, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing, production, or hands-on engineering environments.
• Experience with photovoltaic modules, solar cells, or electromechanical array assemblies.
• Ownership of end-to-end manufacturing processes, including process documentation, tooling, and build execution.
• Demonstrated design-for-manufacturing improvements that reduced cost, cycle time, or defect rates.
• Must be a U.S. person under ITAR or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-volume or automated solar manufacturing and production-line ramp from pilot builds to sustained production.
• Experience in space, defense, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments with rigorous acceptance testing.
• Hands-on experience with technicians and build tooling.
• Familiarity with NX or equivalent CAD software and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
