R&D PhD Summer Intern: Life Science Modeling, Beauty Care

Location: Mason, Ohio, United States; 4–5 days onsite per week

What you will do

• Generate experimental data for beauty spray products using internal experimental designs and protocols.
• Develop an exposure model based on experimental data.
• Compare model predictions and evaluate model performance.
• Document assumptions and limitations and recommend model refinements.
• Deliver a prototype model interface or workflow, technical report, and final internal presentation.
• Collaborate with scientists, modelers, and cross-functional teams on product safety research.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerosol Science, Exposure Science, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Toxicology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Relevant programming and simulation experience with Python, COMSOL, MATLAB, or similar tools.
• Available for a 12-week internship from May or early June through August 2027.
• Available to work onsite 4–5 days per week in Mason, Ohio.
• Internship experience is intended for candidates developing proficiency in their field.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of mass transfer, fluid dynamics, aerosol science, particle transport, or exposure modeling.
