Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Annual salary: $143,000–$286,000, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Lead platform engineering efforts to deliver scalable cloud-native infrastructure and reusable tooling.
• Drive the full software development lifecycle for distributed systems optimized for AI/ML integration.
• Architect intelligent software solutions using model-driven design and advanced programming languages.
• Design agentic workflows that safely call internal MCP tools and Java/Spring Boot microservices, including authentication and guardrails.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship while influencing architectural standards across multiple teams.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable success metrics while promoting continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Extensive experience leading platform engineering and delivering scalable infrastructure and reusable tooling.
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, high availability, and fault tolerance.
• Strong software development lifecycle skills, including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and incident response.
• Experience with AI/ML integration and intelligent software systems using Python, Java, and C++.
• Hands-on experience designing, extending, or operating MCP servers and integrating agentic or LLM-based systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus 5 years of software engineering experience, or 7 years of relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience building or integrating super-agent systems, including orchestration, tool-calling, and prompt or skill design.
