What you will do

  • Design, test, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair sensors, PCBs, embedded firmware, and electrical systems.
  • Develop a new family of semiconductor process tool sensors, including sensor transducers, analog and digital circuits, and embedded systems.
  • Collaborate with sensor architects, physicists, and system hardware and software engineers to deliver complete sensor systems.
  • Perform chamber integration, verification, prototype bring-up, debugging, and continuous improvement of sensor designs.
  • Review schematics, layouts, and bills of materials, and coordinate PCB supplier activities.
  • Develop supplier-site pass/fail criteria and test procedures for microcontroller boards and other PCBs.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.
  • At least 4 years of experience in sensor development.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor processes, related physics, and vacuum process tools.
  • Training in laser, optics, and/or GHz/mm-wave devices.
  • In-depth experience with schematic design and simulation tools such as OrCAD and SPICE.
  • Knowledge of serial interfaces and peripherals, including I2S, I2C, SPI, ADCs, and DACs.

Nice to have

  • Experience testing and debugging optical systems, optoelectronic assemblies, photodetectors, and sources such as PDs, IR devices, and LEDs.
  • Embedded firmware development experience.
  • FPGA experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication standards such as ECAT or DNet.
