Hardware Engineer III (Power Electronics)

Location: Sorocaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil; onsite

What you will do

• Lead mixed-signal hardware development for embedded control, communications, sensing, motor-drive interfaces, and power-conversion systems.
• Own the PCBA lifecycle from architecture, requirements, schematics, component selection, and layout review through prototyping, validation, and production release.
• Define design trade-offs, validation strategies, acceptance criteria, and digital control requirements.
• Debug board- and system-level issues involving EMI/EMC, thermal behavior, grounding, signal integrity, power integrity, and environmental robustness.
• Drive root-cause analysis for field failures, production issues, and reliability concerns.
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, reliability, and product teams while mentoring junior and intermediate engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, mechatronics, control and automation engineering, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of industry experience developing electrical or electronic hardware and delivering production-ready equipment used in the field.
• Strong experience with analog and digital circuits, microcontrollers, power electronics, protection circuits, communication interfaces, and PCBA development.
• Experience with industrial, outdoor, energy, automotive, agricultural, or other harsh-environment equipment.
• Experience with Altium Designer or similar ECAD tools, laboratory debugging, reliability testing, and the V-cycle development model.
• Fluent English required.

Nice to have

• Embedded firmware interaction, C-based embedded systems, Python-based test automation, or data analysis.
• System modeling, simulation, control loops, motor drives, or power converters.
• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant technical field.
