IT Infrastructure Engineer (UNIX / Intel)

Location: Mississauga, Canada; hybrid work with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week

Salary: CAD 79,956–127,000 per year, based on experience

What you will do

• Deploy, configure, administer, maintain, and support IT infrastructure components.
• Develop and modify infrastructure solutions to meet business objectives.
• Implement technical solutions, specifications, and documentation for projects and daily support initiatives.
• Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and system owners to define requirements, assess feasibility and costs, and recommend design options.
• Provide technical training and support to users with different levels of IT knowledge.
• Perform preventative maintenance and monitor network security.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with enterprise infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, Windows Server, Linux Server, Active Directory, SQL Server, networking, firewalls, LAN/WAN, VoIP, MPLS, monitoring, and messaging systems.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available enterprise systems using clustering, load balancing, fault tolerance, configuration management, optimization, and monitoring.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, IIS, DHCP/DNS, TCP/IP, Windows Server, VMware, storage area networks, hardware virtualization, and Fibre Channel switching.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Successful completion and maintenance of a Government of Canada Reliability Clearance (PERC) is required.

Nice to have

• Security-focused infrastructure experience, including audit remediation and systems hardening.
• Scripting and automation experience.
• Experience with Cisco UCS, PKI, and hyper-converged technologies.
