Lead Network Engineer (Computer Engineer IV)

What you will do

• Lead sustainment engineering, system configuration, and lifecycle support for afloat and ashore Navy tactical networks, including CANES, ADNS, and ISNS.
• Partner with Government subject-matter experts on fielded systems engineering, system performance analysis, modernization, and sustainment initiatives.
• Direct daily priorities, coordinate engineering tasks, and mentor sustainment engineers and analysts.
• Compile and submit contract deliverables and technical data calls for NIWC Atlantic, PMW 160, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare executive-level technical briefings and status reports for Program Management Reviews and military leadership.
• Provide onsite and remote technical assistance, perform global diagnostics, investigate network anomalies, and develop root-cause analyses, workarounds, SOPs, and sustainment documentation.

Requirements

• At least five years of technical experience supporting CANES, ADNS, ISNS/COMPOSE, or comparable Navy C4I systems.
• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics with a Computer Science concentration; equivalent technical, military, or professional experience may be considered through an education waiver.
• Ten years of relevant professional experience with a qualifying master’s degree, or fourteen years with a qualifying bachelor’s degree.
• Possess or complete after hire, with COR approval, a vendor or platform certification such as Cisco CCNP/CCDP, Red Hat RHCP, VMware VCP, Microsoft role-based, or cloud certification.
• DoD 8570/8140 Cybersecurity Workforce qualification is required within nine months of hire.
• Active Top Secret clearance is required at hire, with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.

Nice to have

• Recent hands-on sustainment or fielded systems engineering experience with CANES or ADNS in an afloat or ashore environment.
• Experience with Regional Maintenance Centers, In-Service Engineering Activities, or similar Navy technical organizations.
• Experience as a technical lead or task manager, including mentoring junior systems engineers or technicians.
• Familiarity with VMware, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server, Cisco networking, and related enterprise technologies.
• Experience writing technical reports, preparing data call responses, or supporting technical proposals.
